Shortly after the demise of up-and-coming indie rock
group The Shape, the three core members (Travis Kammeyer,
David Brown, Steve Gaskell) stuck together to set aside
their pop-influenced roots in order to compose something
new, featuring a slower tempo and a darker, atmospheric
rock sound; thusly, Mouth Movements were born.
After writing an album’s worth of songs and playing
a handful of live shows in their hometown of Knoxville,
TN and the surrounding area, the band added guitarist
Joe Armstrong to further perfect their live performances
and bring yet another spectrum to the music.
Credited with five national tours and over 300 shows
as The Shape and, more recently, a month long East Coast
tour and two month summer tour as Mouth Movements, the
group plans to continue touring extensively throughout
the foreseeable future.
In May of 2007 Mouth Movements released their debut
full lengths album, entitled "This is the Way We
Reform You" and after several tours with their buddies in Gamenight, the two groups released the split EP "Blue and Green" in the summer of 2008. |
