DEMO POLICY
So you're interested in sending a demo to Missing Words?
Well first off I'd like to say thanks for even considering
us, it's very flattering. In this section you'll find
some information and other pointers about sending in
demos. First off, Missing Words is a super small label
run by one guy with a little help from friends and family.
That being said, you can probably imagine that we don't
have a huge budget. For that reason we have to be really
picky about the bands we decide to work with. We have
to absolutely LOVE your music to release you're album.
We get a lot of demos that are good, the kind of CD
that I would buy for myself and listen to, but still
we're unable to sign them. So don't get discouraged
if you're turned down.
While we would love to be able to reply to each and
every demo we receive, that has become just too time
consuming. Since it takes a lot more effort to send
us a CD, we promise to reply personally to each and
every CD demo submission we receive. We usually try
to get the bands a written response within a month of
when we received the demo. It doesn't always work out
that way but we try our best. We do guarantee that we
will listen to every e-mail or MySpace submission that
we receive but we will only reply to submissions that
we really enjoy.
Physical (CD) Submission Guidelines:
-
Send no less then 3 songs on CD.
-
Enclose a short bio with your submission. It
doesn't have to be long and involved, a page or
so is fine. Also if you've toured in the past,
a history of where you toured, when, and who you
toured with would be appreciated.
-
We're looking for bands that are willing and
able to tour. We understand people have school
and work but if you can at least tour in the Summer
and Winter then that's cool. If you can't tour
please don't bother sending a demo.
